Cichlid is a cloud platform that allows the creation of customizable product configurators. A product configurator is a platform that support end users by guide them through the choices that they can make. On one hand by explaining all the possible options, on the other by preventing non-existent configurations. Product configurators are tools that can be used in various fields, such as technical, documental or commercial. The first two used by the technical departments to generate 3D models, drawings or datasheets, the second one oriented to the sale and therefore useful in the creation of offers / orders.

We have created a cloud platform in collaboration with Massimo Magris for the generation of customizable configurators. Cichlid is able, through the creation of two zip files appropriately formatted, to generate a basic but effective product configurator ready to use. Moreover, for more demanding companies, it is able to interface with both upstream and downstream configuration process of any existing system by the use of RESTful APIs.
